ZEO Tangdar Orders Probe Into Alleged Teacher Negligence at UPS Upper Jabdi; Salaries Withheld Pending Enquiry
Kupwara, Apr 11, KNT: Amid complaints of negligence by teaching staff at the Government Upper Primary School (UPS) Upper Jabdi in Tangdar, the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) has launched a formal inquiry and sought immediate explanations from the concerned teachers.
Acting on multiple representations received from different sources regarding dereliction of duty by staff at UPS Upper Jabdi, the ZEO Tangdar has issued an explanation notice to five teachers posted at the school. The teachers have been directed to submit their individual responses within two days. Failure to do so, the order states, will be construed as acceptance of guilt, and disciplinary action under service rules will follow.
Pending the outcome of the probe, the ZEO has also ordered the withholding of salaries of all implicated staff members. Those named in the explanation notice include Mumtaz Malik (Teacher Grade II), Auraf Lone (3rd Teacher), Nazir Ahmad (Rehbar-e-Taleem), Amjid Mushtaq (TGII), and Altaf Ahmad (TGIII).
To investigate the matter thoroughly, a three-member committee has been constituted, headed by Imtayaz Alam Qureshi, Senior Lecturer at GHSS Tangdar. The committee also includes Master Mohammad Rafi Zargar and Senior Assistant Pir Hissam ud Din from GMS Nachyian.
The committee has been tasked with examining school records, assessing academic progress, and conducting a detailed academic inspection. Their findings, including observations on the performance of the teaching staff, will be entered into the service records of the concerned teachers. The committee has been directed to submit its report within a week.
The probe comes as part of a broader push by education authorities to ensure accountability and enhance academic standards in schools across the border area of Tangdar in north Kashmir. [KNT]
