ACB Catches Girdawar and Accomplice Red-Handed in Bribery Case

Srinagar, Apr 11, KNT: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday caught a Girdawar and his associate red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe in the Habbakadal area of Srinagar.

Sources said that  Ayaz Ahmad Hurra, posted as Girdawar, was apprehended along with his Chowkidar tout, Rafiq Sheikh, during an ACB-led trap operation. The duo was allegedly involved in corrupt practices and was caught in the act while demanding and receiving illegal gratification.

The operation was carried out following a specific complaint, and both individuals were taken into custody on the spot.

An ACB spokesperson said that further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the full extent of the corrupt dealings and any possible involvement of other officials. [KNT]
