Opposition moves notice in RS to discuss Allahabad HC judge’s remarks, Dhankhar refuses to accept it
Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar has declined the notice filed by Opposition MPs seeking discussion on alleged derogatory remarks made by Allahabad HC judge. Terming the notice filed by Opposition MP Renuka Chowdhury to be in transgression of rules, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has declined the demand for discussion on the remarks in Rajya Sabha. After Opposition MPs created ruckus over various issues including Adani row, the Upper House has been adjourned till 2 pm.
The faceoff between BJP and Opposition MPs over the no-confidence motion against Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar is likely to continue in Rajya Sabha today. The Opposition INDIA bloc MPs have alleged Dhankhar of “partisan behaviour” and have called him the “biggest disruptor” in the House.
The Upper House witnessed disruptions yesterday with the treasury bench and Opposition MPs trading barbs over each other. The BJP MPs have been targeting the Congress party over the alleged nexus between US hedge fund tycoon George Soros and Sonia Gandhi.
