LG has not accepted the existence of elected govt yet: Tairq Karra
Srinagar, Nov 6, KNT: Tariq Hameed Karra, Congress president for the Jammu and Kashmir Unit, expressed concerns about two power centers in the erstwhile state, stating that it hinders relief efforts for the people.
Karra said that Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has perhaps not acknowledged the existence of an elected government in Jammu and Kashmir, pointing to security review meetings chaired by the LG and the handling of Secretariat employees as examples.
Karra as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust stressed the need for a holistic and inclusive approach, urging LG Sinha to ensure the elected government functions smoothly.
He recognized the LG’s constitutional role but advocated for cooperation with the elected government. He added that two power centers may create challenges for effective administration. [KNT]
