Jammu Muslim Front Demands State Holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh’s Death Anniversary
Jammu, Nov 6, KNT: The Jammu Muslim Front (JMF) has appealed to the government to declare April 26, the death anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, a state holiday.
JMF Chairman Shuja Zaffar said that this demand has been pending for far too long, and it’s high time the government conceded to it.
In a statement to the news agency Kashmir News Trust, Shuja Zaffar expressed his disappointment with Jammu legislators, stating that instead of addressing pressing issues affecting the people of Jammu, they engage in politics and focus on insignificant matters. He emphasized that the people of Jammu face numerous challenges, including power tariffs, unemployment, ration shortages, poor road conditions, and water scarcity.
He said that legislators should prioritize these genuine concerns rather than wasting time on useless issues. [KNT]
