Shaheen and Khim Lata Wakhlo visit fire hit area of Bohrikadal, demanded bureaucratic hassle-free compensation to victims
Srinagar, June 27, KNT: Janata Dal United President for Jammu and Kashmir GM Shaheen and senior Congress leader Khimlata Wakhlo separately today visited the Bazar Masjid area of Bohri Kadal – that had recently been ravaged by a fire incident.
In the fire-hit areas of Bohri Kadal, both the leaders met the families of those whose houses had been gutted by the terrible fire recently and assured them that they would take up their genuine demand, that the ex-gratia payment made by the Administration to those affected by the loss of their homes – be increased, especially since the cost of building materials had shown a steep increase over the past few years.
Shaheen appealed to the government to provide monetary assistance to the victims which should be bureaucratic hassle hassle-free.
Both the leaders appealed to the government that the masjid damaged by fire should be renovated as soon as possible. They demanded that a partial investigation should be conducted to ascertain the cause of the fire. [KNT]
