BJP expresses concern over fat power bills, seeks LG’s intervention
Baramulla, June 27, KNT: BJP leader and president for the district Baramulla Raja Waqar Asif came down heavily on the government for levying hefty power bills.
Raja Waqar alleged that after the installation of smart meters, hefty amounts of power bills are being generated.
He said the amounts in present bills are nearly ten times more than what the consumers were getting earlier. But the officials are saying the bill is due to more consumption of power.
The BJP leader said that LG Manoj Sinha must take note of it and stop the Power Department from charging hefty bills from poor consumers.
“People have been suffering. The poor people have no means to pay the fat bills. If this goes, locals will surely protest against the government on a large scale,” he said and appealed to LG to take note of it. [KNT]
