Janata Dal United has condemned the assault on a police officer by a political leader and his workers in North Kashmir’s Pattan at a polling station yesterday.
JDU president for Jammu and Kashmir, GM Shaheen said that such actions should not be condoned and need to be condemned with ferocity. He demanded stern action against the assailants under the law.
“Our police force has left no stone unturned in bringing the Valley on the tracks of peace. The role of the police is commendable. However, some political leaders drunk with pride seek pleasure in attacking the police force,” he said.
Shaheen said that nobody is above the law. “Strict action should be taken against those who assaulted the police officer at the polling station,” he said and hoped that action would follow. [KNT]
