Ensure hassle-free movement of tourist cabs from Gulmarg entry point to Gandola point, streamline rates: TASK to Govt

Srinagar, May 28, KNT: Travel Agents Society of Kashmir Tuesday appealed to the tourism authority to ensure hassle-free movement of tourist vehicles up to Gandola Point.

All the vehicles at present are being stopped at the Gulmarg entry point, much to the discomfiture of taxi operators and tourists.

A delegation of TASK including President Muhammed Ibhram Siah, Vice President Ali Muhammed Shangloo, Joint Secretary Maqsood Badayri, and General Secretary Waseem Ahmad Goosani held a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer Gulmarg Development Authority and appealed to him to address the issues being faced by tourists in Gulmarg at priority basis.

The delegation said that the hassle-free movement of tourist vehicles up to Gandola Point has been stopped as a result the drivers and tourists are facing a lot of inconvenience.

The delegation also appealed to the CEO to streamline the rates of ponnywallas and local taxi operators. They said the rates from Gulmarg to Butapathri are not fixed and this needs to be streamlined.

The CEO assured them that these issues will be looked into and resolved.

TASK also appealed to the LG Manoj Sinha, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Director Tourism to allow the movement of the tourist vehicles from the Gulmarg entry point to Gandola point without any halt. [KNT]
