How can Azad, Lone, Bukhari support an anti-Muslim party: Farooq Abdullah
National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday said that it is unfortunate and he feels sorry that Ghulam Nabi Azad, Sajad Lone, and Altaf Bukhari support an anti-Muslim party.
Farooq Abdullah said that these leaders should reconsider their decision and stop supporting to BJP. “Don’t they see the attitude of the BJP towards Muslims? Not only in Jammu and Kashmir but across India, Muslims will suffer if BJP comes to power,” he said.
He said it is very unfortunate that the Prime Minister of a country has been talking openly against Muslims. He said Islam doesn’t teach us to look down on other religions. A Muslim can never snatch the mangalsutra of Hindu women. “Our religion teaches us to respect other faiths,” he said.
In response to a question, Farooq Abdullah said that there may not be any more elections in Jammu and Kashmir if BJP is voted to power. “Who knows this party may control the Supreme Court. They say we will rule till 2047, will they survive till then?
On the BJP’s agenda of ‘One Nation, One Election’, Abdullah said that it is not possible to have a single election for the entire country as each of the 28 states is different. “BJP wants to install one Prime Minister just like the Russian Putin.”
Farooq Abdullah also questioned the law that removed the Chief Justice of India from the selection committee for the Election Commission. [KNT]
