The State Investigation Agency (SIA) conducted raids in different parts of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Sources said that raids were conducted in connection with the 2016 unrest in Kashmir Valley.
They said that the house of the well-known cleric Sarjan Barkati located at Reban village of the district Shopian was also raided and a search was carried out there.
Sources said that the team of SIA was assisted by the local police and para-military forces personnel.
Sarjan Barkati is accused of raising money from the public and using the same for himself as well as for instigating youth. [KNT]
