No-Confidence Motion Moved Against DDC Chairman Budgam

The District Development Council members of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district have moved a no-confidence motion against the incumbent chairperson of the Council Nazir Ahmad Khan.

Sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that all the 13 members of the Council under the leadership of Vice Chairman Nazir Ahmed Jara moved a no-confidence motion against DDC chairperson Nazir Ahmad Khan.

Sources added that the disgruntled members have alleged that Chairperson Nazir Ahmed Khan didn’t convene any meeting of the council for over a year and was acting on his own without consulting members.

The resolution was presented before Deputy Commissioner Budgam Akshay Labroo and the outcome is expected at any time.

While talking to KNT, incumbent Chairperson Nazir Ahmed Khan accused NC and PDP of the act. He said the members led by Vice Chairman Nazir Ahmed Jara were unhappy with the pace of development in district Budgam. He said PDP and NC cheated people for the last two decades and now they don’t want him to be the torch bearer of development in every part of the district.

“I have complete faith in the LG Manoj Sinha. I am concerned with developmental issues like power, roads, and water and like PDP and NC won’t fool people in the name of autonomy, Article 370 and 35A. [KNT]
