Unveiling the Future of Tourism: Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Alliance’s 19th Annual General Meeting

Against the enchanting backdrop of Dal Lake’s tranquil beauty, the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Alliance orchestrated its 19th Annual General Meeting at the opulent setting of Hotel Shahensha Palace. This pivotal gathering emerged as a significant milestone, offering a comprehensive platform to deliberate on and address critical issues facing the regional tourism landscape.

The meeting witnessed Nasir Shah, the immediate past president, sharing invaluable insights into the accomplishments of his tenure, providing a retrospective overview of the alliance’s performance. Distinguished dignitaries, including Chief Guest Ahsan ul Huk, Deputy Director of Tourism Kashmir, and leaders from various travel and tourism associations, graced the occasion, infusing their perspectives into constructive discussions on the challenges and opportunities within the sector.

A moment of anticipation and importance unfolded with the announcement of the election results on December 2, 2023. The newly elected leadership, poised to guide the alliance forward, comprises Noor Muhammad Shangloo as Chairman, Shamim Ahmed Shah as Deputy Chairman, Sameer Baktoo as Honorary Secretary General, and Hilal Ahmad Dar as Honorary Treasurer.

The transition of leadership to the newly elected officials marks a turning point for the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Alliance. Renewing its commitment, the alliance is geared to unlock the full potential of the region’s tourism. Fueled by a collective spirit and a collaborative approach, the alliance looks forward to overcoming industry hurdles and ushering in a dynamic phase of growth and development in the coming year.

In the words of newly elected Chairman Noor Muhammad Shangloo, “Our vision is to create a sustainable and vibrant tourism ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir. Together, we will harness the rich cultural and natural heritage of the region to attract travelers from around the globe.”
