Death of teenager: Family smells foul, appeals police for thorough probe
A day after an 18-year-old labourer was found dead in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, the family of the deceased today made a fervent appeal to the police to investigate the matter thoroughly.
Pertinently, yesterday the body of Sahil Mushtaq Sheikh, a resident of Turkolbal Pattan was found near Pattan Railway Station. Prima facie it seemed a case of suicide, however, his family members on Wednesday staged a silent protest at the native village and claimed that Sahil had been murdered.
They appealed to SSP Baramulla and SDPO Pattan to probe the death of their loved one thoroughly and expose those who according to them are involved in the ‘gruesome murder’.
Sahil after leaving home for work on Monday had gone missing.
A police officer told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that a case has already been registered under relevant sections of law and an investigation is in progress. [KNT]
