Four members of two families killed after boulder hits truck, Six cattle also perishe

Four persons died as their truck plunged into a deep gorge after being struck by a landslide alongside the Srinagar-Jammu Highway near the Sherbibi area of district Ramban.
The mishap occurred during the wee hours of Tuesday. Six cattle that were in the truck also perished in the mishap.
Official sources said that a truck on way to Srinagar was hit by a boulder shortly after a landslide struck in the area. The truck skidded off the road and fell down into the gorge.
They said all four persons including the driver on the board died in the mishap. The rescue team retrieved all four bodies from the damaged truck. The deceased included the two brothers, hailing from South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
A police official identified the deceased Muhammad Afzal Guroo and his brother Altaf Ahmed Guroo, Irfan Ahmed and his brother Showkat Ahmed All of them were residents of the Anantnag district. [KNT]
