SMC fails to install street lights in Gangbugh area of Srinagar uptown

Locals from the Gangbugh Hyderpora area of Srinagar uptown have been demanding the installation of street lights.
They said there is an urgent need to get the street lights installed from Gangbugh Byepass near Tengpora to bridge up to Jamia Masjid Hyderpora.
“After the sunset, the main road and by-lanes in the entire locality plunge into darkness. We have been demanding the installation of street lights for the last 3 years, but ignored every time,” the locals told the news agency Kashmir News Trust.
They said neither the Srinagar Mayor nor the Commissioner SMC takes the matter seriously.
“We think we should hit to roads to attract the attention of the authorities,” they said.
The locals appealed to LG to direct SMC to look into the matter. [KNT]
