Sadaf Mushtaq tops class 10 examination, 79.89% students declared successful

Jammu Kashmir Board of School Education declared the result of class 10 on Monday.

As usual, girls outwitted boys. Most of the positions were secured by girl students. Sadaf Mushtaq emerged as the topper securing 498 marks out of 500.

Sadaf Mushtaq is a student of International Islamic School Srinagar.

One of the mentors of the topper student told news agency Kashmir News Trust that Sadaf didn’t attend any coaching institute. “She studied at school and home and didn’t join any private coaching centre,” he said.

Overall 79.89 percent students have been declared successful among which 81.68 percent compared are girls and 78.23 boys.

As per the statistics, 148701 students were enrolled (77422 boys and 71279 girls) and of them, 118791 were declared successful.

JKBOSE chairman Dr. Parikshat Singh told KNT that students have been awarded grades and no toppers are mentioned in the gazette. He congratulated all the successful students and urged them to work hard in future as well.

Some of the toppers include Arooba Shakeel (496), Shenum Fatima (495), Hadeeqa Bilal (495), Arsalan Farooq (494), Rumaila Khurshid (494), Farkhanda Anjum (493)  Safoora Shafi (492) and Arshana Manzoor (492).

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha congratulated all the students who passed the results.

“Heartiest congratulations to all the students, who have passed @jkboseofficial Class 10th Annual Regular examinations-2023,” Sinha said in a tweet. “Girls have once again outshined boys, with a pass percentage of 81.68 compared to boys’ 78.23%. My best wishes to students, their parents & teachers,” he added. [KNT]
