Vaccination program starts for Hajh pilgrims in South Kashmir’s Pulwama

A vaccination drive for Hajh pilgrims was started in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district in which pilgrims intending to perform the Hajh pilgrimage this year were vaccinated.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the immunization campaign for Hajh pilgrims this year has been started in three blocks of Pulwama district.

He said such vaccination drives have been started in Tral, Litar, Pampore and Rajpora areas of the district.

Chief Medical Officer Pulwama Dr. Mir Hassina while divulging the information said that over hundred pilgrims were vaccinated yesterday, while the rest of the pilgrims are being vaccinated in their respective blocks today

“Majority of the pilgrim are septuagenarians who are being given influenza vaccines. Over 600 pilgrims from the district are scheduled to perform Hajh this year,” she added. [KNT]
