Srinagar locals appeal PDD to dispatch power bills on monthly basis

The inhabitants of Sheikh-ul-Aalam Colony here in Nowgam area Srinagar outskirts Tuesday staged a protest against the negligence of Power Development Department for not dispatching the power bills to consumers on monthly basis.
The locals told news agency Kashmir News Trust that since January 2023, they didn’t receive a single power bill and if the concerned department will now dispatch bills to them, they won’t be able to pay in one go.
“We used to receive the power bills on monthly basis from Sub-Division Chadora Budgam but the shifting of system from Chadora Sub-Division to Bemina Sub-Division created problems to them. Bemina Sub-Division doesn’t bother to send power bills on monthly basis to them,” they said.
One of the protesters said that it will be difficult for them to clear all the bills in one-go. “We appeal to the Sub-Division Bemina to send us power bills on monthly basis and inform us about the monthly power consumption,” they said.
When contacted an official said that matter will be looked into and consumers now onwards will receive bills on monthly basis. [KNT]
