Police and civil administration in the summer capital Srinagar have yet to take a final call over allowing the Eid prayers at historical Eidgah Srinagar.

Reliable sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that security agencies have not taken a final call and it is not yet decided whether Eid prayers will be allowed at Eidgah Srinagar or not.

Pertinently, Chairperson Wakf Board Dr Darakshan Andrabi recently in response to a question maintained that keeping in view the conducive atmosphere in Srinagar, Eid prayers will be held at Eidgah Srinagar.

Sources said that top officials from civil and police administration will hold a meeting in this regard in which Wakf officials may also be invited. A final decision will be taken in that very meeting, sources added. [KNT]
