Cleaning of Nigeen Lake: Won’t collaborate with ‘questionable NGO: Junaid Mattu

Srinagar Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu today made it clear that Srinagar Municipal Corporation won’t collaborate with ‘tainted’ NGO for cleaning Nigeen Lake.
Earlier, there were reports that for the cleaning and conservation of Nigeen Lake, some top officers are of the view that SMC and Lakes Conservation and Management Authority (LC&MA) should collaborate with ‘Nigeen Lake Conservation Organization’ (NLCO) a Non-Governmental Organization.
Srinagar Mayor without naming NGO in a tweet said that SMC is not going to “collaborate” with any questionable non-governmental organization for cleaning Nigeen Lake which according to Mattu is involved in land-grabbing behind a smokescreen of eco-activism.
