BJP Leader Slams Sajjad Lone, Calls Discussion on Article 370 ‘Foolishness’
Srinagar, Mar 4, KNT: BJP legislator and Leader of Opposition in Jammu and Kashmir, Sundil Sharma, on Monday dismissed any discussion on Article 370 as “foolishness,” asserting that the matter has been settled by the Supreme Court of India.
“I have repeatedly said that discussing Article 370 is foolishness. Everyone, including the entire House, knows that nothing can be debated on this matter anymore. The Supreme Court of India has legitimized the abrogation of Article 370, and no assembly has the power to question a bill passed by Parliament,” Sharma said.
Targeting People’s Conference chairman Sajjad Gani Lone, Sharma accused him of having a soft corner for Pakistan, linking it to his family ties. “As for Sajjad Gani Lone Sahib, his love for Pakistan has once again surfaced. I often say it’s his in-law love, as his in-laws are in Pakistan. He seems frustrated because he barely won the election and is now alone,” he remarked.
Sharma’s statement comes amid a renewed political debate in the Union Territory over the abrogation of Article 370 and its implications. While BJP leaders maintain that the constitutional change is irreversible, opposition parties, including Lone’s People’s Conference, have been vocal about restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s special status.
