Four drug peddlers arrested from Southern and Northern parts of Kashmir

police have arrested four drug peddlers in North and Southern parts of Kashmir Valley and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In Kulgam, a police party from Police Post Mirbazar at a checkpoint established near Nippora crossing on Srinagar-Jammu highway intercepted a suspicious person. During the search, 4Kgs of ground cannabis, 50 grams of cannabis powder and 80 grams of charas like substance concealed in a gunny bag were recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Imran Malik son of Rashid Malik resident of Khaloora, Devsar.
Similarly, a police party led by SHO Police Station DH Pora at a checkpoint established at the village of Ahmadabad intercepted a suspicious person. During checking, officers were able to recover 3Kgs of Poppy Straw and 120 grams of Charas like substance concealed in a Nylon Sac from his possession. He has been identified as Gull Najar son of Samad Najar resident of Ahmadabad.
In Pulwama, a Police Party led by the Incharge Police Post Reshipora under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora Mumtaz Ali Bhatti arrested a drug peddler in a suspicious condition at Beighpora crossing. He has been identified as Mushtaq Wani son of Rajab Wani resident of Beighpora. During the search, 600 grams of Charas Powder like substance was recovered from his possession.
In Handwara, a police party of Police Station Kralgund during patrolling at Panditpora intercepted a suspicious person who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully. During the search, around 29 grams of Charas-like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Lateef Mir son of Gani Mir resident of Langate.
All the accused persons were arrested and shifted to their respective police stations where they remain in custody. Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered at respective police stations and investigation has been initiated. [KNT]
