Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi Tuesday said that efforts are on to eliminate militancy once and for all in Kashmir Valley. He said the situation is completely under control.
The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GoC) of Udhampur-based Northern Command was addressing an event at Digiana Udhampur.
He said there were some infiltration attempts that were repelled by Army. “Situation on borders is under control and in Valley too, efforts are on to end militancy related incidents,” Dwivedi said.
Dwivedi as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust said that status quo is maintained with China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh and talks are going on at different levels. [KNT]
