A speeding Thar Jeep turned turtle in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district resulting in the on-spot death of the driver, who in other words was the owner of the ill-fated Jeep.

The accident occurred late Sunday evening, officials said.

They said that at around 9 pm on Sunday evening, a speeding Thar Jeep (JK02CH-3642) turned turtle near Railway Phatak falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Wanpoh Kulgam.

The driver of the Jeep died on the spot. Police sources identified the deceased as 28-year-old Aquib Mehmood son of Mehmood Ahmed, a resident of Bunkote Banihal area of Ramban district.

The deceased was traveling to his native village from Srinagar. [KNT]
