The devotees visiting Kalashpora shrine in old Srinagar city Monday appealed to Srinagar Municipal Corporation to curb the dog menace.
A group of locals from Zaina Kadal area told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that dogs have let loose a reign of terror who can be seen roaming outside and inside the premises of the shrine.
“Visiting the shrine for prayers is witnessing huge inconvenience owing to the growing canine population. People are really scared to visit the shrine for the prayers after the darkness,” they said.
They said they took up the matter with the SMC officials, however, nothing was done in this regard.
The locals appealed to higher-ups of Srinagar Municipal Corporation to contain the dog terror in the area and ensure hassle-free movement of devotees to the shrine. [KNT]
