Three pilgrims were injured in a road accident in Banihal area of Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir during wee hours on Friday.
Police sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a Tempo (HR55AG-0831) coming from Chanderkot towards Srinagar turned turtle near Sherbibi area due to the reckless driving of the driver.
Three Amarnath Yatris (pilgrims) sustained grievous injuries in the accident who were shifted to Sub-District Hospital Banihal where doctors referred them to Government Medical College Anantnag.
The driver identified as Jaswant Singh of Delhi was taken into custody by the police.
Police sources identified the injured as 49-year old Anita Gupta, wife of Sanjay Gupta, Vinayak Kumar Gupta, both residents of Chatisgarh, and 56-year old Kundan Kumar son of Seva Das of Uttar Pradesh. (KNT)
