Collision between two trucks leaves trooper dead, dozen injured in uptown Srinagar

 

Srinagar: A CRPF trooper died while a dozen others sustained injuries after a truck hit a forces vehicle last night in Hyderpora area of uptown Srinagar, official sources said.

They said that there was a collision between a civil truck (JK05K 7200)  and a CRPF vehicle (HR55AC 5705) of B Coy 181 in Hyderpora Srinagar.

The collision left 12 troopers and the conductor of the truck injured. One CRPF man identified as M.N Mani died on way to the BSF hospital Humhama while the condition of two troopers ASI Jasraj Singh and constable Sushant Biswas is stated to be critical at 92 Base Badami Bagh Hospital Srinagar.

The Conductor of the private truck identified as Tanveer Hussain Dar son of Ghulam Hussain Dar, a resident of Balhama Srinagar has been undergoing treatment at SMHS Hospital Srinagar.

Police seized both the trucks and registered a case under relevant sections of law. (KNT)
