Students hold protest against non-availability of transport facilities

 

Kangan: The students of Government Boys High School Gagangeer Sonmarg held a protest and blocked the Srinagar-Kargil road against the non-availability of transport facilities.

The protesting students hit to the road and blocked the vehicular movement to attract the attention of authorities.

Amid slogans, the students were demanding regular and timely transportation facilities. The protesting students alleged that due to the non-availability of transport facilities they reach late their school every day, which also hampers their education.

After getting information, SHO Police Station Gund reached the spot and assured the protesting students that their issue will be resolved in the shortest possible time.

On the assurance, the protesting students dispersed and vehicular movement was restored on the road.

Meanwhile, locals in Kangan alleged that public transport disappears from the road shortly after the sun-set. They said that despite raising the issue with the higher-ups’ nothing changed on the ground. (KNT)
