Entry, exit gates at Hokarsar wetland to be constructed next month: Ashok Parmar

 

Srinagar: Principal Secretary, Irrigation & Flood Control, Ashok Parmar Friday said that in order to provide a safe habitat to the migratory birds, entry and exit gates at Hokarsar wetland will be constructed next month.

He said that the construction of two sluice gates at the entry and exit of Hokarsar wetland will begin in May, 2022.

He said the construction of these gates is to ensure all-season inundation of wetland to provide a safe habitat to the migratory birds.

“Gates are constructed to comply with National Green Tribunal (NGT) guidelines to protect wetlands,” Ashok Parmar said. (KNT)
