River Police retrieve dead body of teenage Srinagar girl after 7 days

Srinagar: The dead body of a teenage girl was retrieved from the river Jehlum by the River Police here in Srinagar on Wednesday.

A 17-year old girl (name withheld) from Buddo Bagh Rainawari area had allegedly jumped from the Cement Bridge Qamarwari into the river on 23 March this month.

The search operation to locate her body was intermittently going on since the incident and today the River Police fished out her body at Kreshbal Srinagar which falls under the jurisdiction of police station Parimpora.

After the completion of legal and medical producers, the body was handed over to the family.

Police in this regard had already registered a case. (KNT)
