Kashmir: 4 militants killed in 3 different nocturnal gunfights, one arrested

Srinagar: Four militants were killed in three different nocturnal encounters across Kashmir Valley, police said.
Joint Forces had launched operations in South Kashmir, Central Kashmir, and North Kashmir on late Friday night. These operations were launched in Ganderbal, Pulwama and Handwara.

Informing about these operations, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar said that 2 militants of Jaish-e-Muhammad including 1 Pakistani militant were killed in Pulwama while one militant of LeT was killed in Ganderbal and also a militant has been killed in Handwara.

IGP said that encounters have culminated in Handwara and Pulwama.
Inspector-General of Police also informed that a militant has been arrested alive in the operation.
Joint Forces had launched operations at Chewaklan village of Pulwama, Serch village of Ganderbal and Nechama Rajwar area of Handwara.
A police official said that the militant killed in Handwara had recently joined the militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba and has been identified as Suhail Gulzar of South Kashmir’s Turigam village of Kulgam district.
“Pakistani (militant) killed in Pulwama encounter has been identified as JeM commander Kamaal Bhai alias Jatt,” Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar said adding that Jatt was active since 2018 in Pulwama-Shopian belt and was involved in several cases.
Sources said that one person Zahoor Ahamd Shergojri of Chewakalan Pulwama received bullet injury in his right thigh and has been admitted to district hospital Pulwama. (KNT)
