3 years on: Promoted lecturers from Kashmir await posting

Srinagar: In-Charge Lecturers from Kashmir Valley who were promoted in 2019 are still waiting for their posting.

These unadjusted in-charge lecturers staged a protest to attract the attention of the government. They said their counterparts in Jammu have been posted but lecturers from Kashmir Division are still waiting for the same.

One of the protesting lecturers told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the School Education Department (SED) issued an elevation list of lecturers in different subjects in July 2019 and promotees had been directed to report at respective directorates.

“We submitted the relevant documents well in time but the postings have been delayed as the department has raised queries over the validity of degrees obtained by us through distance mode,” he said.

He added that the degrees were obtained through recognized universities in line with the government Order No 252 of Higher Education and 940 of Education in J&K.

“The Director School Education Jammu has already issued posting orders of all those in-charge lecturers who were elevated with us in different subjects,” the protesting lecturers said and appealed to Director Education Kashmir to look into the matter. (KNT)
