‘Unfair trade practices’ GDA asks hoteliers to furnish tariff details within 3 days

Gulmarg: Chief Executive Officer, Gulmarg Development Authority has asked hotel keepers at tourist resort Gulmarg and Tangmarg to furnish the details of monthly tariffs they have charged from visitors from the beginning of this new year.

The time-bound notice has been served to all hoteliers at Gulmarg and Tangmarg.

The notice has been served after Para Legal Volunteers of TLSC Tangmarg filed a petition before the Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee (Munsiff Court) Tangmarg submitting that the Hotel Keepers are operating in contravention of Tourism rules and are indulging in ‘unfair trade practices.’

Taking cognizance of the complaint, the Munsif Court directed the Chief Executive Officer, Gulmarg Development Authority to submit the records pertaining to each hotel operating in Gulmarg or Tangmarg regarding monthly tariffs charged for last two months with effect from January 1 to February 24, 2022.

In order to submit the tariff details, Chief Executive Officer, Gulmarg Development Authority has directed the hotel keepers to furnish the authentic details certified by the authorized signatory within three days. (KNT)
