SIA arrests 10 persons including two brothers, seizes 20 cell phones, dummy pistols

Srinagar: The newly constituted State Investigation Agency (SIA) arrested at least 10 persons during nocturnal raids in three districts of South Kashmir.

The raids were conducted in Kulgam, Pulwama, and Shopian.

Official sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that these SIA conducted these raids during interviewing night of 15 and 16 February.

Ten alleged militant sympathizers were arrested who have been handed over to another agency for questioning.

Those apprehended during the raids include Manzoor Ahmed Kasana of Ramnagri Shopian, Tariq Ahmed Paddar of Bonpora Kulgam, Shahnawaz Farooq Wani of DH Pora Kulgam, Nisar Ahmed Lone of Khibatpora Kulgam, Shakir Ahmed Rather of Chakoora Pulwama, Inayat Sikandar Paddar of Mutipora Kulgam, Sabzar Bhat of Okey Kulgam, Aqib Hussain Mir and Waseem Hassan Mir, both residents of Zontral Khrew Pampore and Waqar Ahmed Bhat of Naibugh Tral.

Sources added that 20 cell phones and a dummy pistol were recovered from these 10 persons. (KNT)
