Kashmir: BJP demands registration of FIR against senior Journalist

Srinagar: BJP Kashmir Unit has demanded registration of FIR against senior Journalist Sanam Ajaz for allegedly defaming the party.

In a letter to SSP Budgam, BJP has alleged that Sanam Ajaz is a Pakistani agent and Hurriyat spokesperson.

The demand for registration of an FIR against the Sanam Ajaz comes in the backdrop of police action against a  BJP Corporator Nazir Gilkar who was taken into custody in Udhampur after driving a stolen vehicle.

Sanam Ajaz had alleged that some BJP workers are using their security guards for their personal interests.

In the letter, written by BJP Kashmir Unit to SSP Budgam it has been claimed that during election time in any Indian State, Sanam Ajaz defames BJP. The letter reads that Sanam Ajaz leveled ‘serious allegations’ against some BJP leaders, claiming that they are drug peddlers.

“Our apprehension is that Sanam Ajaz is a Pakistan sponsored person and Hurriyat Conference spokesperson, deputed to defame BJP,” reads the letter.

BJP Spokesperson Altaf Thakur told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a complaint has been forwarded to SSP Budgam and the ball is in the court of police. (KNT)
