Hope Taliban will follow Islamic principles: Farooq Abdullah

Srinagar: National Conference patron Dr Farooq Abdullah Wednesday said that his party is ready to take part in elections.

“I don’t know when elections will be held but once they will be held National Conference will be part of it. We will be part of the elections,” Farooq Abdullah told reporters at Hazratbal Srinagar.

In response to a question he said that the stand of National Conference about the restoration of statehood and Article 370 is clear. “We will fight about the restoration of statehood and special status and hopefully we will succeed,” he said.

Farooq Abdullah hoped that Taliban in Afghanistan will run a smooth government and will establish friendly relations with all countries.

“I hope Taliban will respect the rights of people, will run government on Islamic principles,” he said. (KNT)
