Block President Elections: 3 DDC members from NC resign from party

Ganderbal: National Conference Block President Elections in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal have marred with controversy as basic members of the party are alleging that they were sidelined while members from even PDP and BJP were made delegates.

Several National Conference members took to social media and termed the elections as ‘fraud’ and full of ambiguity.

At least three senior members of the party from Ganderbal who recently emerged victorious in District Development Council elections have submitted their resignations to the party leadership expressing their inability to continue as members of the party.

The DDC members who have resigned from National Conference are Zahida Hameed (DDC Wakura-A), Muhammad Ashraf (DDC Wakura-B) and Muhammad Yousuf (DDC Ganderbal-C).

Muhammad Ashraf confirmed to news agency Kashmir News Trust that he and other two party members have resigned. He raised questions over the conduct of Block President elections in Ganderbal saying that senior party members were humiliated and not made delegates. (KNT)
