Joint Forces arrest Hizb militant from Khrew area of Saffron Town

PAMPORE: Police Wednesday claimed that joint forces apprehended a militant in Sharshali Khrew area of saffron town Pampore.

A police official said that based on specific information, Awantipora Police, soldiers from 50 RR and CRPF 185 Battalion launched a joint cordon and search operation during morning hours in SharShali Khrew area of Police district Awantipora.

During the search operation, joint forces observed some suspicious movement in the orchard area which was under cordon. The joint forces noticed a suspected person, who was trying to escape but was empowered and apprehended.

“He wasr identified Sahil Manzoor of Tulbagh Pampore who is affiliated with militant outfit Hizbul Mujhadeen. Incriminating material including arms and ammunition was recovered from his possession,” the police official said. (KNT)
