Wild Life Team Captures Leopard Roaming In South Kashmir’s Pampore Area

Yesterday, two leopard cubs were captured in Beerwah area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam. Two leopards were captured at two places in Khansahab area of Budgam.

 

PULWAMA: The Wildlife Department in Pampore on Tuesday morning caught a leopard alive in Munpora Wuyan area of Saffron town Pampore of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Earlier locals had informed Wild Life Department after they saw a leopard roaming in the area. A local told news agency Kashmir News Trust that after they spotted the leopard, they asked people especially children and women to stay indoors.

People have a sigh of relief after the Wild Life Team captured the big cat alive.

An official said that leopard was captured alive in a professional way and it was not harmed or injured.

He said leopard will be released in its habitat.

Recently, a man-eater leopard devoured a little girl in Ompora area of Budgam. The incident sent shock-waves among people while authorities decided to take several measures to curb the animal. (KNT)
