Sand labourer feard dead after boat capsizes in river Jehlum

 Police sources said that all the youth made it to the river bank safely, however, one labourer is missing and is feared dead.

PULWAMA: A sand labourer is feared dead after a boat laden with sand capsized in Lelhar area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

A video about the incident is viral on social media. One can see in the video that a sand laden boat is fluttering in the river Jehlum while couple of youth present in it jumping into the river.

Police sources said that all the youth made it to the river bank safely, however, one labourer is missing and is feared dead.

The sand labourer who is feared dead is identified as 24 year old Manzoor Ahmed Murad son of Mushtaq Ahmed, a resident of Hyatpora Chadoora rea of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

The operation to retrieve the missing labourer was going on till the filing of this report. (KNT)
