“Nine Sites Struck in Pakistan in Response to Pahalgam Attack, No Pakistani Military Facilities Targeted”

New Delhi, May 7, KNT: The Government of India has said that the Indian Armed Forces have launched a precision strike operation codenamed ‘Operation Sindoor’, targeting militant infrastructure located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The operation comes in response to the recent barbaric terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali national.

According to a press release issued by the Government of India, a total of nine locations were struck during the operation. These sites were reportedly being used to plan and coordinate attacks against India.

“The targets were carefully selected to ensure a focused, measured and non-escalatory response,” the government said. It also clarified that no Pakistani military facilities were targeted, underlining that the operation was aimed solely at terrorist infrastructure.

Indian authorities described the action as a deliberate and restrained response, emphasizing that the objective was to prevent further cross-border terrorist attacks without aggravating tensions in the region.

“This operation is a demonstration of our resolve. Those responsible for the Pahalgam attack will be held accountable,” the statement said.

Further details about the scale, outcome, and strategy of Operation Sindoor are expected to be shared in an official briefing scheduled for later today.
