Road Accident: Bodies of 2 passengers retrieved, 3 still missing
REASI: Rescue teams recover dead bodies of two young men of Bijnore from the river Chenab at Talwara area of Reasi district. These two young men were among the five passengers who had gone missing after an ill-fated vehicle (HR55J-1678) on way to Bijnore from Kashmir capital Srinagar met with an accident near Duggi Pulli Chanderkote and fell down into the Chenab River.
Out of 9 passengers including the driver, one passenger had died on spot, 3 were rescued while 5 passengers had gone missing. Out of these 5 missing passengers the bodies of two young passengers were retrieved from the river in Reasi district.
The duo has been identified as 26 year old Muhammad Afzan son of Amanat Hussain and 24 year old Muhammad Azim son of Muhammad Anees, both residents of Kiratpur Bijnor.
A police official told KNT that an FIR vide number 59/2021 under section 279/337/304 already stands registered at police station Chanderkot in this regard. He said dead bodies were handed over to families after the completion of all formalities.
Pertinently, the accident had occurred on 19 Many last month. (KNT)
