Burglars decamp with cash and gold from 3 houses in Shopian village

SHOPIAN: Burglars broke into the houses of three families in South Kashmir’s Shopian village and decamped with cash and gold.

The incident occurred during the intervening night of June 22 and 23 in Bohrihallan village.

The victims told news agency Kashmir News Trust that burglars entered into three houses belonging to Muhammad Lateef Bhat, Riyaz Ahmed Hajam and Muhamamd Ishaq Sheikh.

The victim families registered their complaint at police station Heerpora.

Taking cognizance of the incident, police registered a formal case in this regard.

As per the complaint registered by these families, burglars looted Rs 31,000 and gold ornaments worth Rs 2 lakh from the house of Muhammad Lateef Bhat. Similarly, Rs 40,000 and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.50 lakh have been looted from the house of Riyaz Ahmed Hajam and Rs 42,000 have been stolen from the house of Muhammad Ishaq Sheikh. (KNT)
