Bear cub united with mother in Ganderbal forest area
The team placed the cub close to the jungle where it had been separated with its mother.
GANDERBAL: A bear cub found in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal village was successfully rescued and reunited with its mother by a joint team of Wildlife, Police and Forest Department.
The bear cub was noticed in the upper reaches of Repora village. The locals hurriedly alerted the forest department, who contacted the Wildlife and Police Station Lar who rescued the cub and united with its mother.
The team placed the cub close to the jungle where it had been separated with its mother.
A Wild Life official told KNT that it is not uncommon to spot bears in this area as it is dense with trees and bushes that provide a safe cover for wild animals and a suitable shelter for giving birth and rearing their cubs. (KNT)
