Teenage girl dies in Bijbehara road accident, trio injured

A rashly driven car rammed into a roadside tree in Bijbehara town of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, killing the teenage girl and leaving three others on board including the teen driver injured.

Locals sources told news agency KNT that a speeding car (JK02CS-3742) was on its way to Anantnag. The driver lost control over the vehicle near Government Degree College Bijbehara and it glided down to a field after ramming into a roadside tree.

The passersby dragged out four young travellers from the damaged vehicle and shifted them to sub-district hospital Bijbehara where one among them – an 18-year old girl Anayat Jan, a resident of Nayi Basti Anantnag was declared dead by the medicos.

Trio who are injured are being treated in the hospital. They have been identified as Burhan Ajaz Wani (18) of Frisal Kulgam, Abrar Nisar Wani (19) of Nayi Basti Anantnag, and Suman son of Hilal Ahmed Shah of Khanabal Anantnag.

Police have registered a case under relevant sections of law in this regard. [KNT]
