A man from Srinagar uptown allegedly died after being hit by some object by his estranged wife. The relatives of the deceased man alleged that the victim was being harassed and beaten up on a daily basis by his alienated wife and two daughters, an allegation that has not been authenticated yet as the accused woman along with her two daughters have fled from the house.

The victim has been identified as Abdul Rashid son of Abdul Karim, a resident of Rawatpora Baghat.

Relatives of the deceased told news agency Kashmir News Trust that both husband and wife were living separately in a house. The two daughters were living with the mother.

“For last six years, the couple was not on friendly terms. There is a dispute over some property and the matter is in the court,” one of the neighbors said.

The sister of the victim alleged that her wife and two daughters were assaulting her victim brother regularly. “My brother has been murdered by his wife and her two daughters and they should be arrested,” she said.

Police rushed to the spot after the incident and registered a case under relevant sections of law. [KNT]
