Covid-19: DC Srinagar warns of restrictions, asks people to follow SOPs

Srinagar: District Development Commissioner Srinagar Aijaz Asadh Saturday warned of restrictions related to Covdid-19, if people don’t cooperate and follow SOPs.

He said Covid-19 cases are on rise in some pockets of Srinagar city.

“From past couple of days, Covid-19 cases are on rise. Lal Bazar area of Srinagar has reported 18 cases, Chanapora 12 and Bemina 15 cases. I don’t want and wish that 3rd Covid-19 wave should engulf us. People need to cooperate, follow SOPs, stop visiting crowded places, maintain prescribed limit during marriage functions,” Aijaz Asadh said.

DC Srinagar as per news agency Kashmir News Trust said that some areas in Srinagar are under scanner and if Covid-19 case didn’t diminish, restrictions will be imposed there. “Government works for the people and it doesn’t want that people should invite the 3rd Covid-19 wave by abandoning the mandatory standard operating procedures,” he said.
