Mumbai: Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut Tuesday uploaded a purported video on micro blogging platform Twitter about Kashmir wherein people celebrate Pakistan’s victory over India in recently culminated T20 cricket match and demanded action against those who celebrated India’s defeat.
He said celebrations were made when Union Home Minister Amit Shah was on his 3 day visit in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sanjay Raut, while tweeting in Hindi said, “It is certainly a matter of concern that Pakistan’s victory and India’s defeat in the T20 WC was celebrated in such a manner and anti-India slogans were raised, that too during Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s Kashmir visit. The central government should take this seriously. Jai Hind!! Vande Matram!”
His remarks came two days after Pakistan on Sunday defeated India by 10 wickets at Dubai International Stadium.
Scores of videos people setting fire crackers in air and celebrating Pakistan’s victory have already gone viral. In different parts of Punjab and Chandigarh, Kashmiri students were allegedly roughed up for celebrating the Pakistan’s victory.
Meanwhile, Police on Monday night registered FIRs against a section of the students of two top local medical colleges after their videos celebrating Pakistan’s victory over India in Sunday’s T 20 World Cup match went viral.
Police said that FIRs were registered under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and relevant IPC sections. They said these FIRs have been registered against hostel wardens, management and students of the Srinagar Government Medical College and the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura where Pakistan’s victory were celebrated.
