Union MOS of Health and Family Welfare lays foundation stone 50 bedded Pahalgam hospital

 

Pahalgam: Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar on Tuesday laid foundation stone for new 50-bedded Pahalgam Hospital during her two day visit to Anantnag.

The MOS inaugurated the Pahalgam hospital in presence of Additional Chief Secretary Health and Medical Education Department, Vivek Bhardwaj, Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Rather, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag an DDC Chairman MY Gorsi.

A spokesperson of Directorate of Health Services Kashmir said the Union Minister of State presided over a function in which he appreciated the efforts of health care workers and said that Pahalgam hospital will bring relief to the people of the area and also to the devotes who visit there for the purpose of Annual Amarnath yatra.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Rather thanked the MOS for attending the event.

The director said that Pahalgam hospital was the long pending demand of the local residents and said that it will decrease the burden on the nearby hospitals of the district.

The functional was attended by a huge gathering including health officials, school student, para-medical students, senior citizens and local populace of the area.

Later, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar visited Sub Centre Aru and interacted with people. She also met golden card (Ayushman Bharat) beneficiaries and ASHA workers, other health care workers and interacted with them about the problems and issues faced by them in providing health care.

The MOS also inspected the stalls set up at the event by DHSK projecting the work of the directorate and also showcasing work done under the several schemes. The work of the health department during the Covid-19 pandemic was also showcased in the stalls.

The MOS said that it is encouraging and heartening to see substantial progress made by Anantnag district in Health and other sectors.

The Minister expressed satisfaction on achievements made in building healthcare infrastructure besides the implementation of Centrally Sponsored and Flagship Schemes.

She appreciated the work done by the health department in Kashmir and also hailed the Covid warriors for their tireless efforts during the Covid pandemic.

The MOS said that the good work of the health department could be replicated in other places of the Country as well.
